Performing arts project "Ragnarok"
Client: Tortoise in a Nutshell
I created a series of performing arts illustrations, including a poster and supporting artwork, for the puppet play Ragnarok. This production was written and commissioned by Tortoise in a Nutshell, an Edinburgh-based visual theatre charity, in collaboration with Figurteatret i Nordland and in association with the Macrobert Arts Centre.
The story, inspired by the Nordic myth of Ragnarok, was brought to life through a compelling and imaginative visual narrative. For this project, I was given a musical composition as my primary brief. Using the music as inspiration, my task was to let my imagination flow freely and develop concepts and art direction for the visuals.
The resulting illustrations aimed to evoke the dramatic and mythical essence of Ragnarok, blending the music’s mood with my artistic interpretation to create a cohesive and engaging visual identity for the programme.
