Jazz art in colour
Client: Various clients
I have had the honor of creating jazz art for clients such as Resonance Records, Sony Music NY, and Peter Campbell Music. My passion for jazz inspires daily depictions of its classic and modern scenes, often rendered with ink on paper. These works have been featured on album covers, posters, and promotional materials, while some clients have collected them as treasured private art pieces.
Pen-and-ink lines have been central to my style, capturing the raw emotion and atmosphere of jazz. In a new direction, I am now blending vibrant, dynamic colors into my work. This evolution retains the minimalist essence of my ink linework while introducing a fresh vibrancy. By illustrating both contemporary talents and legendary icons, the collection bridges jazz’s rich history and dynamic present, celebrating the enduring vitality of this remarkable genre.
With over 20 years of experience as a graphic designer, adding colors digitally has become second nature to me. I particularly enjoy incorporating traditional techniques, like adding a watercolor wash to the background or using screen printing to create unique, handcrafted pieces. However, I’ve been inspired to take my hand-drawn ink linework to the next level by blending it with digital tools like Photoshop.
The result is a fusion where traditional artistry meets the innovation of the digital era—much like jazz itself, seamlessly combining classic roots with modern expressions.
